Why Intentionality Is the Heart of My Work

Why Intentionality Is the Heart of My Work

This is the first article in The Intentional Visibility Project: An 8-Part Series on Strategic Visibility for Accomplished Women Over 50

Intentionality isn’t a trend for me. It’s the bedrock of everything I do. And it took a long time to get here.

For decades, I’ve witnessed random acts of marketing—when we chase strategies without alignment or visibility, because someone told us to “be seen.” I’ve lived the consequences of that, too.

“Random doesn’t work” isn’t a buzz phrase. It’s true. And it’s tempting.

Over the past few years, I’ve narrowed my focus by being intentional about the work I choose to do and who I’m most excited to help. My clients have evolved, and I’ve chosen to work with women over 50 who’ve been on the front lines of life and business, and now they want to choose too. They’ve built careers, raised families, led businesses, and shaped communities. They most certainly are not looking for a new version of themselves.

They’re looking to make the most of everything they have and make a ruckus in this third—and likely last—act of a life well lived.

There Is No More Time for Random

At this stage of life, we’ve earned the right to be discerning. To say no. To stop performing. To build on what’s true specifically for us and no one else.

That’s why everything I create, every strategy, every framework, every space, is designed around what lasts. Not trends, but timelessness. Not shiny tactics, but rooted clarity.

We build from what we’ve already lived. We layer in what’s useful and new. We create visibility that’s sustainable, not performative.

This Isn’t Just About Marketing

Don’t build your business for a platform.

It’s about ownership.

Own your story. Infuse it with your earned wisdom, your voice, every bit of who you are… and then share it everywhere. This is only your story. And it’s the foundation for your future.

That’s what I’ve been building quietly for years. It’s had different packages, but at the core, it’s always been the same. It took me a long time to understand that. I had to learn a different kind of patience. And now, it has a methodology—a framework that makes the invisible visible.

The Foundation Matters

This work isn’t quick. It’s not a checklist. It’s not about hacking algorithms or chasing the latest platform trend.

It’s about building a foundation that will support everything you create next. A foundation built on:

  • Who you actually are (not who you think you should be)
  • What you’ve already accomplished (the wisdom you’ve earned)
  • The audience you’re meant to serve (not everyone, but the right ones)
  • Strategic architecture that lasts (not tactics that expire)

This intentional approach changes everything—how you show up, what you create, where you invest your energy, and who finds you.

Next in the series: The Architecture of Visibility: Building a Foundation That Lasts — where we explore how to construct visibility that doesn’t require constant rebuilding.
