Shared Values: Your Compass to Intentional Visibility

Shared Values: Your Compass to Intentional Visibility

When you deeply understand your values and those of your perfect audience, visibility becomes infinitely easier. It’s not about posting values on your website—it’s about living them through every business decision and interaction.

Why Values Matter

Clear values act as a natural filter. They attract aligned opportunities and repel mismatched ones. When your values guide your choices:

  • The right podcasts find you
  • Aligned media covers you
  • Perfect-fit clients seek you out
  • Speaking opportunities resonate

Beyond Surface Alignment

This isn’t just about matching values on paper. It’s about creating an unmistakable presence where:

  • Your content speaks directly to your audience’s wants and needs
  • Services evolve naturally from understanding
  • Decisions become clearer and easier
  • Connections deepen organically

The Power of Strategic Listening

Remember our discussion about strategic listening? When combined with clear values, you’ll:

  • Recognize opportunities that truly fit
  • Understand where to invest your energy
  • Know exactly what content to create
  • Build genuine, lasting relationships

Brené Brown’s Values Exercise

I’ve been on both sides of this values exercise numerous times. The most recent round of values refining, I was able to narrow it down to two:

  1. Curiosity: Keeps us relevant and connects us to unseen opportunities and possibilities. “Curiosity is recognizing a gap in our knowledge. It often starts with interest and can range from mild curiosity to passionate investigation.”Brené Brown
  2. Making a Difference: Some measure their work through KPIs. Not me, I measure my work through the impact made directly and indirectly. The stories shared, intentional connections, and lives changed through the ripple effect.

Your Turn

Share in the comments: What do you value? How do your values guide your visibility choices? What shifts when you operate from this aligned space?
