What do you do and why do you do it?
I started my career as an international tax lawyer in one of the top two accounting firms and spent 25 years in the corporate world. I held leadership positions in Finance, HR, Sales and Business Development, and Change Management. I have been working with organizations and their leadership for many years to help them perform better, and have helped hundreds of organizations. But a little voice inside me made me want to do this in a more personal setting, as a coach. I love nothing better than helping people succeed to make them see how amazing they are. It’s what drives me, and the coaching is my zone of genius. I can’t switch it off – even if I tried.
What changed for you after age 50?
I feel my life gets better every day – I love who I am, what I do, where I am, and above all, who I am with. I have accepted my purpose and have done enough personal development to live this better life. This has been a steady process, and after I turned 51, all of a sudden, I started to feel and see a decline in my body. This inspired me to treat myself and my body better – and I have been more active and eating healthier ever since.
What would you tell the 20 or 30-year-old YOU?
What do you think you’ll tell yourself in retrospect at the end of your life?
You did it! You made it a party! I love that the older you got, the better life became. In every aspect of your life, your relationships, business the fun and joy you had, the friendships and wow did you live a beautiful life. I love how you enjoyed it – how you always made it work, how you had these amazing experiences, traveled, and just the joy from your live – amazing!
What impact do you think increased visibility can have on your business?
I love to reach more people and increased visibility will help for sure!
Who or what inspires you and why?
I always loved Oprah, as she went through so many tough situations and continued to believe in herself and made a difference in so many people’s lives. I am also very inspired by many entrepreneurs, especially those who kept on trying even though it appeared not to work out in the beginning, like Tyler Perry.
Something else I’d like to share
I love coaching and I love to help business owners and CEOs to grow their businesses by working smarter. A big part of my coaching is to show my clients how they’re amazing – diving deep into their unique strengths and having them own that what makes them different sets them apart. As they tap into that, they’ll find their zone of genius and once you operate from there, it all gets easier. Yet quite often it takes some time for people to accept that their difference (especially when they have been ‘called out’ for being different) is a great thing – and to see their personal power. Seeing that shift happen is so rewarding!
