About me

Ronda Berns is the principal, coach, and trainer of Ronda Berns Sales Consulting and Coaching, LLC. She has been in sales leadership for over 30 years. She served as Vice President of Tourism for the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, the Executive Director for the Vermont Convention Bureau, National Sales Manager for Destination Hotels, and a Director of Sales and Marketing for Starwood Hotels & Resorts and the Hilton Hotel Corporation.

Using her vast experience, Ronda works collaboratively with business owners, business organizations, non-profits, and sales & service teams—empowering them with her customer-centric sales process to become confident in identifying, connecting, and creating business opportunities with their ideal clients to achieve their business sales and revenue goals. She shares this valuable insight in her presentations, coaching and training programs.

What do you do and why do you do it?

Through my consultative, relationship-based sales training program, I empower my clients with a framework, roadmap, and results-driven selling techniques to become competent, confident, and successful salespeople, trusted advisors, and consultants to their clients.

Today, I work collaboratively with business owners, non-profits, sales and service teams, and entrepreneurs nationally, teaching them how to utilize my proprietary, customer-centric, relationship-based sales process to identify, connect, and create business opportunities. My programs bring valuable insight into all stages of the sale, from developing leads to nurturing and closing sales and building brand loyalty.

During my tenure as the Vice President of Tourism for the Vermont Chamber and Executive Director of the Vermont Convention Bureau, I noticed the potential benefits that business owners could derive from the sales skills that I had acquired early in my career. Hence, I decided to package my sales skills and years of experience into sales training classes, coaching programs, and business consulting. I began offering my services to help others, including sales managers, entire sales teams, and business owners nationally, to build success and achieve their goals.

What changed for you after age 50?

The most significant change for me after 50 was making my goals and dreams a priority. I realized that this was my time to create the life I wanted. Being over 50 offers freedom to challenge the norms and be brave in the face of fear and what others may believe is possible. It is liberating!

What would you tell the 20 or 30-year-old YOU?

Stop doing what everyone else is doing and find your passion. Go do what you love, and the work will be always rewarding. It was so easy to follow the money however, it rarely led to happiness.

What do you think you’ll tell yourself in retrospect at the end of your life?

Thankfully I finally took control of my life and prioritized family, friends, nature, experiences, and creating memories as well as making a difference in the lives of others.

What impact do you think increased visibility can have on your business?

My goal is to share and give back all that I have learned throughout my career and help others fast track their own personal success. I believe that the ability to connect, communicate, and have conversations in a sales environment is a skill that can be learned and mastered, rather than something we are born with. I want to show others how they can successfully create the outcomes they desire through a consultative, relationship-based sales process.
