About me
Pamela Sylvan isn’t your typical wisdom guide. After years as a post-graduate professor and capturing cultural moments as a newspaper columnist, she discovered something fascinating: the most powerful stories weren’t in the classroom or on the printed page but were locked inside women who had lived them.
Now, as the original MojoMaker, Pamela specializes in what she calls “wisdom archaeology”, helping women over 55 excavate the gold from their life experiences and forge it into their next powerful chapter. She’s not interested in helping women simply age gracefully; she’s passionate about helping them rise gloriously.
Drawing from her unique blend of academic rigor and storytelling artistry, Pamela guides women through their sage initiation. that pivotal moment when they stop seeing their age as a footnote and start wielding it as their earned power. Her approach combines deep inner work with practical strategy, helping women transform their hard-won wisdom into impact, influence, and income.
What do you do and why do you do it?
I guide women through the most powerful transition they never saw coming, the emergence of their sage wisdom. As a Wisdom Archaeologist, I help women over 55 recognize that they’re not just entering another life phase but stepping into their power era.
My work is about excavation and activation, and diving deep into the rich soil of women’s lives unearthing the gold that’s been forming there all along. Through my sacred excavation process, we uncover the patterns, insights, and wisdom that have been quietly accumulating through decades of life experience. Then, through strategic activation, we forge these discoveries into powerful platforms for impact, influence, and income.
My approach weaves together the mystical and the practical, the ancient and the modern. Think of it as part archaeology expedition, part strategic planning, and part sacred initiation. We begin by mapping the territory of a woman’s life experience, identifying the unique wisdom fingerprint that sets her apart.
From there, we move into activation, where wisdom becomes currency and experience becomes expertise. We craft emergence plans that honour both the sage and the strategist, creating pathways for women to monetize their message if they wish while maintaining their authenticity.
I witnessed something that troubled me deeply: society celebrates youth while sidelining sage wisdom, exactly when we need it most. I’ve watched brilliant women diminish their light just when it could shine brightest. I see it as a cultural tragedy.
Every time I see a woman step into her sage power, I witness the ripple effects. Families transform under the guidance of empowered matriarchs. Workplaces evolve with the introduction of wisdom leadership. Communities strengthen through sage guidance. Young women find new models of aging that inspire rather than frighten. Ancient wisdom meets modern challenges in ways that technology alone never could.
My vision extends far beyond individual transformation. I’m working toward a cultural revolution where aging is understood as ascending, where wisdom commands premium value in the marketplace, and where sage leadership becomes the gold standard in society and organizations.
Imagine a world where wisdom-based economies thrive alongside tech startups. Where elder councils guide corporate decisions. Where intergenerational wisdom bridges create resilient communities. Where women over 55 are seen as emerging leaders rather than retiring workers.
It begins with how women see themselves. When a woman discovers her sage power, she stops seeking permission and starts creating an impact. She builds a meaningful legacy. She influences positive change. She inspires others to rise.
I stand for the woman who has been told her time has passed, who feels invisible but knows she’s powerful, who carries wisdom but hasn’t monetized it. The woman who sees patterns others miss and is ready to rise, not retire.
We don’t need more influencers. We need more sages.
We don’t need more information. We need more wisdom.
We don’t need more youth obsession. We need more sage ascension.
That’s why I do this work. When we help women unearth their wisdom, we don’t just change their lives we evolve our world. This is how we create the future our daughters and granddaughters deserve, one awakened sage at a time.
What changed for you after age 50?
You know that moment when everything just… clicks? That’s what happened to me after 50. It didn’t happen in a dramatic, lightning-bolt way. More like a quiet dawn breaking over the horizon.
Suddenly, time felt different. Not by falling into panic (though sure, those moments pop up) but more like time became a precious commodity. It changed everything.
I became more alive. All those things I’d been putting off “until later”? Later became now. I finally understood the richness of each moment.
I found myself diving deeper into my own potential because I wanted to. I discovered a treasure chest of experiences, insights, and wisdom I’d been carrying around, never fully appreciating its value.
The beauty of it all? I woke up to what really mattered. About creating beauty that lasts and making connections that go soul-deep instead of surface-level.
You know how they say youth is wasted on the young? Well, maybe time is best understood by those who’ve lived enough of it to know its true value. After 50, I stopped trying to manage time and started trying to make it magnificent.
The conversations I wanted to have changed. The work I wanted to do deepened. The impact I wanted to make clarified. I wasn’t working on leaving a legacy anymore instead it became about living one.
What would you tell the 20 or 30-year-old YOU?
I wish I was told that aging had nothing to fear and that I was simply entering my power era. And that I would finally have the wisdom to match my dreams, the experience to fuel my vision, and the confidence to make it all happen.
So here I am, diving deeper every day. Creating beauty where I can. Generating value that matters. Making connections that transform. Not due to a sense of urgency, that time is running out, but because it has finally shown me its true purpose, to be used in service of becoming fully, magnificently alive.
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
What do you think you’ll tell yourself in retrospect at the end of your life?
In the end, it was never about the destination but the depth, width and breath of living one’s life. Not how many lives I touched, but how deeply I was willing to show up. Not how much I accomplished, but how much I dared to become.
And perhaps most importantly, it was about having the courage to be a different kind of guide, one who didn’t just point the way, but walked alongside others as they found their own path to wisdom.
What impact do you think increased visibility can have on your business?
Increased visibility can transform my work from a business into a movement. When more people encounter my unique approach as a Wisdom Archaeologist and MojoMaker, it creates natural growth; more ideal clients, program enrollments, and opportunities that match my work’s true value. Enhanced visibility can establish “wisdom work” as a recognized field, opening doors to speaking engagements, partnerships, and platforms that amplify my message. Each woman who discovers my work becomes a beacon for others, creating a ripple effect that serves a larger mission of transforming how society views and values women over 55.
Who or what inspires you and why?
I was raised in the glow of remarkable women, my mother and grandmother, who embodied an effortless blend of strength and style. They moved through the world with a grace that came not from following trends, but from knowing exactly who they were. Their confidence wasn’t loud but luminous. Through them, I learned that true style isn’t about what you wear, but how you carry your power. These women taught me that elegance is energy, strength is sophisticated, and wisdom has its signature way of shining. Their legacy lives on in how I guide women today to discover their unique radiance.
