What do you do and why do you do it?
I am the owner of Purposeful Pivot, a life coaching and retreat business for midlife women going through transitions. My mission is to empower accomplished women experiencing corporate burnout to make mindful transitions towards their “what’s next” so that they will lead more purposeful lives without anxiety, financial stress, or identity loss. I’d love to share this mission with your readers.
Today, 80% of midlife women are redefining what success means to them and are in dire need of help figuring out how to find purpose at this stage of life. I went through this very transition – leaving an executive role with no plan. I struggled with identity and purpose until I remembered an old dream of developing a TV show for women to activate their vacation days by going on fun and healthy vacations. This dream morphed into my role today but it took a lot of introspection, letting go of things that no longer served me, and getting over the fear of doing something new. This experience had guided my passion of helping other women get through this painful transition with more clarity and at a much faster pace.
What changed for you after age 50?
I became unfulfilled with the corporate roles I had and wanted more at this stage.
What would you tell the 20 or 30-year-old YOU?
Always have goals, but be prepared when you’ve reached your goals so that you have a “plan next.”
What do you think you’ll tell yourself in retrospect at the end of your life?
Don’t sweat the small stuff. Work hard, play hard, and surround yourself with amazing people.
What impact do you think increased visibility can have on your business?
It will allow me to help women get through transitions faster and with more clarity. I can hopefully let women know I am here to be their accountability partner and will be able to help more women and have a much larger impact.
Who or what inspires you and why?
I am inspired by people like Mel Robbins and Jay Shetty who are able to help millions of people with their guidance and advice.
Something else I’d like to share
I’d like to share my story about how I found my clarity by reaching back to an old dream, revised it, and allowed it to guide me to a brand new profession. On the interview I can dive deeper into this old dream and how it morphed into Purposeful Pivot.
