Yet people worldwide have found her understanding of their relationships with money to be uncanny.

Ellen’s consultations help people gain insights on how to grow their businesses, expand their wealth, and bring an increased sense of peace around money. She is also a sought-after speaker and has trained thousands of conscious financial advisors and entrepreneurs worldwide to use the “Art of Prosperity” to grow their businesses and their wealth. Ellen serves on the Board of Directors for Metropolitan Capital Bank and Trust and The Ghana Scholarship Fund. She earned her MBA at NYU Stern School of Business.

What do you do and why do you do it?

I am a money expert and financial intuitive who helps people transform their relationships with money so they can have happier, more abundant lives. I do this through speaking to audiences around the world and through my Messages from Money consultations, in which I connect to the energy of money and channel messages meant for my clients. During the consultations, I also rely on my decades of experience as a financial advisor to guide my clients in the right direction for their growth.

I’ve delivered Messages from Money to people worldwide, and their immediate reaction is always the same: They’re stunned by what I uncover about their relationships with money.

Yet this isn’t a party trick. I do this work because most people have a complicated relationship with money, which causes them all sorts of problems. This can look like worrying they’ll lose everything, fighting about money with their partner, or keeping themselves small in their careers.

The Messages from Money consultations often bring immediate clarity to my clients by helping them understand the root cause of their anxieties, frustrations, or money blocks. There’s also a healing quality to the work we do together. Sometimes this happens immediately. Other times, the changes have been subtle over many months.

I describe it as “flipping the abundance switch” in your mind. There’s a shift that happens through our session, enabling people to move from a scarcity mindset to one of abundance. As they do, my clients dissolve their limiting money beliefs and step into their financial power.

I do this work because most people have a complicated relationship with money, which causes them all sorts of problems. This can look like worrying they’ll lose everything, fighting about money with their partner, or keeping themselves small in their careers.

It doesn’t have to be this way. I’m passionate about helping to ease suffering around money and enable people to build prosperity. I know that when people can get past the question of “Am I going to be okay?” to “How much can I give?” not only will their lives change, the world will change.

What changed for you after age 50?

I sold my financial advisory business to do the work that I feel is my work in the world. After 50 I also recognized my financial intuition skills and stopped being embarrassed to talk about them.

What would you tell the 20 or 30-year-old YOU?

I’d tell myself not to worry, you’ll be financially successful and to spend more time with Steven (my husband).

What do you think you’ll tell yourself in retrospect at the end of your life?

Life well lived!

What impact do you think increased visibility can have on your business?

I believe it will spread the message about my intuitive work with money, shine a light on my upcoming book, and bring increased work for speaking.

Who or what inspires you and why?

I’m inspired by our 25-year-old daughter. She is bright, confident to ask for what she desires and deserves, and has beautiful balance in her life. Amy’s also funny as shit.

“There’s this energy of how can I change the conversation about money to be more positive?

How can I be more generous and give to people?

Because generosity precedes prosperity.”

Ellen Rogan

The Brief

This interview with Ellen Rogan, a financial advisor turned financial intuitive, revealed that a significant shift in her work and approach happened after she turned 50. Rogan stated that she began to question if her traditional wealth management practice was truly the work she was meant to do.

“For 28 years, I had a traditional wealth management practice. I had a successful business…and certainly, after 50, I started to look at, is this really the work I’m supposed to be doing the way I’m supposed to be doing it?” Ellen explained. This questioning led her to sell her practice and pursue her passion for understanding how people think about money and make financial decisions.

Rogan’s shift also included a goal to write another book and explore her intuitive skills, which she discovered were particularly attuned to people’s money issues. “I also started to get in touch with the fact that I was really intuitive with people’s money stuff,” she added.

Ellen’s transition from a traditional financial advisor to a financial intuitive involved merging her personal interests and professional abilities. This combination led to a more fulfilling work experience and surprising results for her clients.

“I’ve come to realize that, first of all, a lot more people are open to things that aren’t seen. The ethereal side of things than I realized,” Rogan stated. “The other part that has been the biggest transition for me is I’ve come through a very traditional background. It’s been an identity shift for me.”

This shift allowed Ellen to be more open and publicly discuss her work as a financial intuitive, which she previously kept hidden. “It was a hidden page on my website. It was referral only. I didn’t talk about it. And now I’ve come to realize that, first of all, a lot more people are open to things that aren’t seen.”

Ellen shared her concept of “abundance activism,” which promotes generosity and trust in the power of positive impact. She believes this approach can lead to both personal and professional prosperity.

Being an abundance activist is not just about financial giving but also mentoring, volunteering, or offering referrals. “Do you want just a money hookup? And would money think you’re a good partner? Do you care about it? Do you respect it? Do you spend it on things you value? Do you trust that it’s there for you?” These are the questions that spark the mindset of abundance activism.

At the end of the interview, Ellen asked… who can you serve today? How can you make a difference for somebody else, even a little?

What difference can you make?
