Connie Inukai – 76
Speaker, Author, Inventor, Grandmapreneur®
About me
Have you ever put your dreams on hold for some day? Have you thought what are you going to do when you retire? How are you going to keep a good life style and enjoy your second-act?
Connie Inukai, a TEDx speaker today, says that “Retirement is the perfect time to live out the dreams you may have put on hold for ‘Some Day’.”
Connie Inukai is a serial Grandmapreneur, inventor, author, and a speaker. She became an award-winning inventor at the age of 68 with her Tip N Split calculating device. A few years later she created “Write Your Selfie” – 6 easy steps to write your life story in pictures and captions and pass it on to the next generations in your family. Not everything is about money and #savings for the second-act life. Connie encourages the BabyBoomer generation and those who think about retirement to rethink and have an active and social life through entrepreneurship. Because… Passion has No Expiration Date!
What do you do and why do you do it?
I want to encourage people 55 and older that it’s never too late to follow your dreams.
What changed for you after age 50?
I retired at 68 and became an inventor. I trademarked the term Grandmapreneur at age 70.
What would you tell the 20 or 30-year-old YOU?
Take risks. Don’t be afraid to try something new, even if you don’t know much about it.
What do you think you’ll tell yourself in retrospect at the end of your life?
Good job, Connie!
What impact do you think increased visibility can have on your business?
Immeasurable.
Who or what inspires you and why?
My 78-year-old boyfriend (of 14 years). He supports me in (almost) everything I do, every step along the way.
