Gail Harris – 60+
Ghostwriter, Memorist, Author, Founder of Golden Ghostwriting
About me
Gail Harris is a Certified ghostwriter specializing in women’s memoirs and an IPNE Book (Independent Publishers of New England) Award Finalist for the memoir FINDING ZOE. She collaborates with women authors who have risen above life’s challenges and have a journey to share.
Gail values the cathartic nature of storytelling; our reflections and take-aways are life-changing both for the author and those who read her book. In other words, an author’s personal story of healing is universal in nature—what sets us apart pales compared with that which brings us together.
Gail inspires women to write their memoirs to heal, leverage their businesses, and become experts in their field. She is the founder of Golden Ghostwriting and also the author of the self-help book YOUR HEART KNOWS THE ANSWER: How to Trust Yourself and Make the Choices That are Right For You.
What do you do and why do you do it?
I think of myself as a storytelling doula, helping women authors give birth to the best possible memoir and most marketable one. It’s personal, in that I use my gifts of holding the big picture concerning healing and writing to help other women heal. It’s also political in that the time is NOW for women to rise up and bring sanity and wisdom to this aching world. Given all this is happening, ie., the fall of Roe and rise of male white supremacy, we must lean on the contributions of the great women who came before us—such as Gloria Steinam and Bella Abzug—and bring our own wisdom and experiences to bear. Women must join together in solidarity; I am called and honored to do my part in this effort by guidig women to share their power and wisdom with other women and the world.
What changed for you after age 50?
I became stronger with regard to facing my vulnerabilities and working them through. My spiritual path became the most vibrant, one-pointed aspect of my life allowing everyting else—relationships, career, connections—to fall into place. Trusting myself and life became the fulcrum of my life.
What would you tell the 20 or 30-year-old YOU?
What do you think you’ll tell yourself in retrospect at the end of your life?
I’ve enjoyed watching my entire life go by and dacning with the Universe. They may not remember me when i am gone, but it doesn’t matter. What matters is that I contributed my part of creation.
What impact do you think increased visibility can have on your business?
I will connect with women who are READY to share their stories and find collaborators who are truly a good fit.
Who or what inspires you and why?
My spiritual teacher is Michael Singer; his teachings and wisdom are leading me on my path of self-realization.
Something else I’d like to share
I am an IPNE (Independent Publishers of New England) Book Award Finalist for the memoir FINDING Zoe. It is a many-layered, complex story dealing with self-empowerment, parenting, trusting ourselves, and how the universe conspires to bring us what we truly need.
