About me
Donna Ashton, Time Reclaimer & Course Expert has 14 years of experience running a simple business working 3 days per week. She teaches strategies to design 4-Day-Weekends for overloaded entrepreneurs giving them their lives back.
Her mission is to give you the one thing you can’t buy-time.
What do you do and why do you do it?
I want people to stop trying to fit their life into their business. I want them to play, have fun, be creative, travel, live their lives the way they want to AND still have an amazing business that changes lives for their clients.
What changed for you after age 50?
I wanted to live my most authentic self/life.
What would you tell the 20 or 30-year-old YOU?
Relax and stop trying so hard. Just be ok with being yourself.
What do you think you’ll tell yourself in retrospect at the end of your life?
You did a damn good job and had an amazing ride!
What impact do you think increased visibility can have on your business?
A LOT. My 4-day Weekend process NEEDS to be spread far and wide so everyone can benefit.
Who or what inspires you and why?
I love looking at life through the eyes of my children and all children. They wake up happy, full of vitality, and just want to play and have fun!
Something else I’d like to share
I’ve been running a simple business working only a few days a week for many years and I am so glad i had time to create my life and spend time with the people I love while doing it!
“The motivation and the things that I wanted when I was 40 had changed when I turned 50. So many things changed when I turned 50.”

The discussion in this interview revolves around the concept of a four-day weekend for entrepreneurs, the importance of reclaiming time, and how to design a business that allows for more leisure time without compromising productivity and income.
Priorities Shift with Age and Life Transitions
The discussion revealed that as people grow older, particularly after the age of 50, their priorities change significantly. This evolution is not just associated with age but also with major life transitions such as children leaving the nest.
Donna Ashton reflected on her personal journey and said, “The motivation and the things that I wanted when I was 40 had changed when I turned 50.” She observed that her focus shifted from materialistic pursuits to experiences and quality of life. “More different things are more important than just money… it’s more of a lifestyle. It’s how I want to spend my time.”
She also emphasized that turning 50 made her aware of the finite nature of life. This realization pushed her to prioritize things on her bucket list and make time for those pursuits.
The Importance of Work-Life Balance and Simplification
Then, we moved on to simplifying work to create a better work-life balance. Donna Ashton shared her personal experience of running a business and how she managed to limit her work days to only three days a week, without compromising on her income or success.
She spoke about why she streamlined and leveraged her business. She no longer had the energy or desire to power through and work all night.
Donna Ashton shared how she simplified her business operations. This involved streamlining offers, reducing time spent on clients, and repurposing old work into new offerings. This approach allowed her to maintain efficiency while working less. These are all things she helps her clients with so they, too, can work 3 days per week.
