What do you do and why do you do it?
I support mission-driven women at a crossroads to navigate change and lead through uncertainty without burning out. I have faced many crossroads and have burnt out, so I understand what it feels like to be navigating a transition and to burn out. I also have experience living and leading in areas of extreme uncertainty including: Afghanistan, Nigeria, Pakistan and Colombia. I have learned a number of my lessons the hard way and through those experiences have created a 5-step “Art of Change Framework” and a number of proven strategies and practices to support women similar to myself so they don’t have to learn the hard way.
What changed for you after age 50?
I separated from my husband of 23 years. I joined an international development consulting group and moved from central Canada to western Canada where the company was headquartered.
What would you tell the 20 or 30-year-old YOU?
Listen to and trust in your body’s wisdom and make decisions based on that wisdom. Follow your heart. Believe in yourself. You can do anything you put your mind to.
What do you think you’ll tell yourself in retrospect at the end of your life?
You have lived an adventurous life and made a positive difference in the lives of many. You took risks and followed your heart. You are respected by and have inspired many. You are an internationally recognized and respected author.
What impact do you think increased visibility can have on your business?
Increased book sales, opportunities to be on highly visible podcasts and radio shows, and in international magazines. Increased connections with other mission-driven women from around the globe and co-creating and collaborating with them in fun and interesting ways.
Who or what inspires you and why?
I am inspired by Ingun Bol the founder of Female Wave of Change Global and the Wize Move Society. She is a feminine leader who models such qualities as: authenticity, creativity, inclusiveness, collaboration, emotional intelligence and intuition and is a joy to work with.
Something else I’d like to share
My broad mission is to help build peace and understanding in the world. When I help a woman find inner peace she can then build it in her family, community, workplace … the world.
