About me
Stephanie Saline is a Business Advisor with 17 years of experience helping established business owners and their teams live into their bigger future. With deep listening and out-of-the-box thinking, she quickly connects with people and sees paths forward that deeply align with who they are. Together with her business partner, Rebecca Liston, she brings excitement about what’s possible to every conversation — using a nimble, rapidly-iterating approach inspired by Agile practices and Generative Leadership, with people and collaboration at the heart of it all.
Before advising, Steph spent 8 years building a fast-growing marketing startup, wrote sales copy for lucrative campaigns, and taught marketing messaging to business owners on four continents — where her client calls often turned into coaching long before she officially called it that. Before that, she was a trained teacher who left the classroom to become an experiential educator and outdoor adventure guide for teenagers.
Steph is at her best in conversations with a sense of aliveness, curiosity, and adventure. In her free time, you’ll find her on her street in Buffalo, sitting with neighbors in plastic chairs in the middle of the road, watching the kids ride bikes together.
What do you do and why do you do it?
I believe being alive is both an adventure and a way of making art. To me, creating and building a business is an extension of this– through a business, we are creating a new world, a new economy. A work of beauty and art.
To me, this is how to live. Not doing what the Neighbors are doing. By listening inside your self and to what your mission, path, guidance whatever you call it is calling you into, and saying yes to the adventure of bringing it into being. And doing it in cahoots with other people, because collaboration makes possible what’s bigger than can be done working alone.
What changed for you after age 50?
I’m not yet 50 so here’s what I anticipate: continuing on the trajectory of letting the non-essential go, and saying yes to what belongs to me (and that which I belong to). More cackling likely.
What would you tell the 20 or 30-year-old YOU?
Thank you. I am in awe of the depth of your self-trust. Look at us now!
What do you think you’ll tell yourself in retrospect at the end of your life?
We’ve have a good ride.
What impact do you think increased visibility can have on your business?
Resonance reaching farther.
Who or what inspires you and why?
It’s Spring as I write this, and the yellowy-green of the buds on the Maple trees drives me absolutely mad with their aliveness.
